About The FOA Certified Fibre Optic Technician Course:

The certified fibre optic technician (FOA CFOT)  course provides delegates with not only the cabling aspect of networks but arms them with the skills to install fiber optics to the american US standards TIA standards, troubleshoot and maintain a fibre optic network. For someone who wants to do more.

The FOA CFOT is recognised across the Americas, Middle East, Africa and many other locations it trains technicians to a basic standard and then allows the individuals to become specialists in their own area of expertise like FTTx, Data Centres, Splicing, Testing and and many others. Please remember that if you need a ECS/EUSR you will need to complete the city & guilds fibre optic course as this is not recognised under the scheme.

On completion of the course you will be able install, test and maintain fibre optic network cabling. This includes the following key skills:

  • Fusion splicing external enclosures

  • Fusion splicing patch panels and optical distribution frames (ODF)

  • OTDR Testing

  • Connectors

  • Identify fibre optic cables

  • And much more.
