WHO IS KRISTINE IRWIN?
Kristine found that one way to heal from her experience of sexual violence was through speaking about it. In 2006 she joined RAINN's (Rape, Abuse, Incest Nation Network) Speaker's Bureau, and began the next step in her healing process.
Since 2006, she has spoken at the University of Delaware, University of Pittsburgh, Penn State University, Bowling Green State University, Carlow University,Shippensburg University, Point Park University, was featured in the Post-Gazette, and the Penn State Alumni Blog and was interviewed by Pittsburgh 100.7 Star's very own Melanie Taylor, and Kel on Air. Kristine released her first book in 2018 titled: Voices of Hope.
In 2015, Kristine began an organization called Voices of Hope(VOH). The organization recently joined forces with her family's non-profit, Wings of Hope. VOH is now a subsidiary of Wing of Hope. Her goal by being a non-profit is to educate on sexual violence prevention. Kristine was nominated and one of Pittsburgh's 40 under 40 class of 2016.
So far Voices of Hope has been able to help numerous people in many ways including: collecting over 1,800 Christmas cards to be sent to Rape Crisis Centers and shelters throughout the United States, and over $1,000 in Holiday gifts for one local shelter. Voices of Hope's most recent project is the "Consent Coaster Campaign," which kicked off in 2017 during Sexual Assault Awareness Month. They were able to distribute 5,000+ coasters that educated on consent to 5 Pittsburgh Restaurants, and to schools and organizations nationwide.
Kristine resides in Pittsburgh with her loving husband, son, and daughter.

HERE'S WHAT PEOPLE THINK...
"Ms. Irwin has been a speaker at several events associated with PAAR and sexual violence and she never fails to deliver her message in an engaging and authentic manner. Her personal experience, while incredibly tragic, gives her a credibility with a variety of crowds and I feel helps them connect with her. Her presence in front of a crowd is both powerful and approachable, a very hard balance to achieve."
