Headless

April 2015

Headless was  a project that had no real inspiration and was more of a happy accident. After photographing my sister Lauren in my old studio i was editing the white background to clean it up and had the sudden thought to remove her head. This theme continued across the tryptic and I love the results! It’s interesting to me to see how people identify with other people given the most identifiable part of their body is removed.

Fashion and editorial photography is fascinating to me because it’s so polished. Headless removes what is usually one of the main focuses of this category of advertising.
